Here's What We Think Of These Amazon Prom Dresses We Got For Under $100

Amazon's new teen shop may just be on to something.

As if prom weren't potentially chaotic enough, there's the added stress of finding that one perfect dress for the night.

Thankfully, Amazon has launched a site JUST for prom-bound teens, and it's packed with dresses that are less than $100. So of course, I needed the tea — could Amazon actually make a prom-worthy dress for a range of body sizes?! Let's start with some intros:

What up y'all! I'm Jamé, and I usually wear clothes between a size 10-12. Honestly it comes down to what will fit around my hips and thighs, as I'm more bottom-heavy (#thickthighssavelives).

Hey, I'm Francesca! I usually wear a size 10 pant and a size L top, although my top can range from M-XL depending on the cut. I like dresses that flow and don't hug my waist, or a dress that cinches just under my chest to accentuate my hourglass shape.

Alright, let's get down to business:

First we tried out this Ever-Pretty Off-Shoulder Evening gown, which has a sweetheart neckline and a concealed zipper in the back. Grand total? $40.

"The material of this navy blue, off-the-shoulder dress was stretchy, comfortable, and true to size with pretty good quality fabric."

Next, we tried out this Ever-Pretty Lilac Evening dress, made of 100% polyester and featuring a padded-bra insert, a deep v-neck in the front and back, and a ruched waist design. Total? $40.

"This dress won me over — not only was it padded (which is great because I HATE wearing bras), but the low-cut back was sexy without being overwhelming."

Next, we went for this Ever-Pretty Champagne Gold Sequin dress, which is not only sleeveless, but has a V-neckline on a sleeveless bodice. Price point? $65.

"This dress is worth the money, but it's not made for someone with curves."

Then we tried this Babyonline V-Neck Red Evening gown, which is made of lace and tulle and comes with a hidden zipper closure in the back and an embellished lace applique. Grand total? $70.

"I loved the embroidery in the front, and the small belt that cinched my waist in. Oh, and this red is BOMB!"

Next we tested this Speechless Halter Prom dress with a zipper closure and a lace detailing for the front. Total? $59.

"The neck and chest were too big for me and I would need to get it altered, which would probably be pricey since the material is lace-like."

This Kate Kasin Gold Sequin Sleeveless dress was next on our list, coming with a deep V-neck, V-back, and an empire waist. Grand total? $51.

    "Seriously, y'all couldn't tell me I wasn't Beyoncé."

Lastly, this black Cachet Off-Shoulder Sequin gown was the one exception we tried: It retails at $146 for a size 12, and is made of 100% polyester.

"I feel like this dress was the truest to size, and the material was stretchy and comfortable to wear."
