Saturday nights will never be the same.

On Monday night, news broke that longtime Saturday Night Live announcer Don Pardo died at the age of 96.

Shortly after, those who had been lucky enough to work with Pardo (and to hear him announce their names), started tweeting in his honor.

    Current cast members mourned.

one of the greatest joys of my life was hearing don pardo call my name for the first time. this is a great article: http://t.co/h2ity6YpyF

RIP the amazing Don Pardo. My favorite was when Andy Samberg made him say very un-Pardo things like this: https://t.co/m79pifuuSZ

    R.I.P to Don Pardo... #snl #legend — feeling sad

On Sept 13th 2008 I heard Don Pardo say my name for the first time. I cried until the 16th. Thanks Don. I owe you a coffee.

    So did the writers.

I would be lying if I said I didn't dream of hearing him say my name one day. Goodbye, Don Pardo.

St. Peter is probably keeping Don Pardo at the gates, making him say "Saint Peter" over and over.

So sad to hear about Don Pardo. He'll be missed. Every time I heard his voice growing up, I knew my very favorite thing was about to start.

God bless Don Pardo's sweet and legendary voice and soul. He will be deeply missed.

And those in the music department.

@TheColinJost My 1st year at SNL, I entered elevator to hear Don recommend a tuna sandwich. Never has tuna sounded more important #DonPardo

    And producers.

It was surreal talking to Don Pardo & hearing his voice in person. He was kind & always game to read whatever ridiculousness we asked him to

Staffers who'd recently left the show also shared kind words about Pardo.

Goodbye Don Pardo. You worked from World War II until this May. You were cool as hell. I'm very lucky I got to talk to you those few times.

RIP Don Pardo. A voice that meant so much. http://t.co/X4q9TeHVbO

And some older alumni as well.

The greatest sound I ever heard was the voice of #DonPardo You will be missed. #SNL #ItsSaturdayNightLive #Legend

.#RIPDonPardo - a model of talent, discipline and craftsmanship - your assuring voice will truly be missed

Any SNL actor will tell u:the ultimate moment of your career was hearing Don Pardo say your name. Each week he represented a dream come true

For most of my 22 SNL years, Pardo did the announce live from a booth under the seats, swinging his arms like a conductor & giving it life.

RIP Don Pardo. God got his voice back.

I got to meet Don Pardo when I was an intern on SNL. Even waiting in line for ice cream he sounded like the King of Earth. I think he was.

RIP Don Pardo. Thanks for 60 years of Saturday nights.
