She does NOT introduce the log.

Played brilliantly by the late Catherine Coulson, The Log Lady (Margaret) became a show favourite. She was able to translate cryptic messages from her log to help solve the murder of Laura Palmer.

The Log Lady was set to return in the new 2017 reboot, but unfortunately she passed away of cancer Sept. 2015 aged 71.

American composer Angelo Badalamenti had the job of setting Twin Peaks to music and he did it perfectly.

Everything from the theme tune, which later became a worldwide hit fro Julee Cruise, to Laura's Theme somehow fit the atmospheric feeling of the show perfectly.

Personal Note: Check out the song 'Sycamore Trees' sung by the late great Jimmy Scott and used in the final episode.

Legend has it that actor Frank Silva was a set dresser working on the pilot episode when his reflection had been caught in a mirror above Sarah Palmer as she had a vision.
David Lynch found the image of Frank int he mirror to be so menacing and striking, that he created the character of BOB and hired Silva as an actor when the show was picked up for a full season. BOB remains one of the creepiest TV characters in history.

We didn't sleep for weeks when one armed shoe salesman Phillip Gerard transformed into the demonic MIKE and spoke about his knowledge of BOB.

MIKE was played by Al Strobel and he returned to for the movie prequel 'Fire Walk With Me' in 1992.

Although the actor has been retired since 2005, he appeared in the viral video supporting David Lynch's return to the reboot in 2015. So it is unconfirmed whether or not he will return to the new series.
