Here's What's Coming To Netflix Australia In September

I cannot WAIT to see Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson in The Devil All The Time.

Hi friends! How are we doing? I know things are as gloomy and depressing as ever, but the bright side is that the sun is shining and spring has arrived.

But even though the weather is oh-so-glorious, that doesn't mean you can't stay in and rest your tush on the couch to watch some Netflix.

Seriously, we're in a pandemic and just trying to get through. So, do what feels right for you — even if that's watching an entire season in one day.

Speaking of Netflix, they've gone ahead and dropped their September schedule — and boy, oh boy, is there a lot of good stuff to add to your to-watch list.

Let's start with the return of some familiar faves who are getting new seasons, like The Gift (September 10) and Baby (September 16), as well as the entirety of Friends (September 17) for you to binge-watch.

Netflix

Returning for a second season, The Gift follows Atiye — a painter in Istanbul — who uncovers secrets about an Anatolian archaeological site and its link to her past. It's got drama and fantasy packed into one, so it's perfect if you usually lean into those genres.

On the other hand, Baby is a teen drama set in Italy that is back for its third and final season. I've been following it since the beginning and don't want to give too much away, but what has kept me hooked is the saucy storylines (reminds me a little bit of Elite!) and the fact that it's inspired by true events.

And, of course, we're all familiar with Friends. If you're a fan of this oldie, Seasons 1 through 10 will be available for viewing.

Or if you're out with the old and in with the new, you can look forward to Away (September 3), Ratched (September 18) and The School Nurse Files (September 25).

I'm an absolute sucker for sci-fi and this series starring Hilary Swank has already got me hooked. According to Netflix, Away is a series about hope and humanity, as it follows an American astronaut who has to leave behind her family in order to command a treacherous, three year-long space mission.

If you're somewhat of a horror buff, Ratched will definitely be something to tune into. It features Sarah Paulson (a la American Horror Story fame and coincidentally, this series is being helmed by Ryan Murphy too), playing Nurse Mildred Ratched from One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Essentially, this will act as prequel of sorts and judging by the trailer, it looks delightfully spooky.

On a completely different vibe is The School Nurse Files, which follows a nurse called Eun-young and her supernatural ability to see monsters (ectoplasm) as jelly figures. There's secrets, fights and a handsome heir involved, too.

In the mood for a movie? There's plenty new ones making their way to Netflix, like Freaks — You're One Of Us (September 2), The Babysitter: Killer Queen (September 10), The Devil All The Time (September 16) and Enola Holmes (September 23).

In this dark superhero flick from Germany, Freaks — You're One Of Us follows a working mum who discovers that she has powers, which had been suppressed by years of medication. Plus, as an added bonus one of the writers from Dark (if you haven't heard of this series, watch it immediately!) — Marc O. Seng — is involved.

Meanwhile, The Babysitter: Killer Queen is the follow-up to the 2017 film, The Babysitter. Think comedy, horror, high school and satanic cults.

Based on the novel of the same name, The Devil All The Time boasts a star-studded cast, including Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Sebastian Stan and Jake Gyllenhaal producing. The storyline will span over two decades revolve around a group of sinister characters who converge around an innocent boy and his family.

And lastly, Enola Holmes stars Millie Bobby Brown as Sherlock's teen sister who unravels a dangerous conspiracy in the search for her missing mother.

And if that wasn't already enough to choose from, there'll also be a bunch of blockbusters, like Anastasia (September 1), Mean Girls (September 1), Scooby-Doo (September 1) and Birds Of Prey (September 28).

Anastasia is one of my FAVOURITE FILMS and I will forever stan her and Dimitri (although younger me wanted to have him for myself).

Plus, if docos are more your cup of tea, you can look forward to pressing play on Hope Frozen: A Quest To Live Twice (September 15), Challenger: The Final Flight (September 16) and American Murder: The Family Next Door (September 18).

When I first read about the synopsis for Hope Frozen, I had to do a double take because I thought it was a fictional series at first. The doco follows a two-year-old girl named "Einz", who became the youngest person in the world to undergo cryo-preservation after she died from brain cancer. Her family yearns to give Einz the opportunity to be "rebirthed" in a regenerated body, but there is supposedly a twist coming that will change things.

If you're a lover of all things space, you'll definitely be interested in The Final Flight. It'll investigate why the Challenger space shuttle — which successfully launched and landed nine times — broke apart on its 10th mission in 1986.

Or, if you're fascinated with true crime, American Murder: The Family Next Door recounts the murder of Chris Watts' wife and two daughters through camera footage that led to his capture.
