We Don't Talk Enough About The "Twilight" Baseball Scene And How It's A Masterpiece

    Alexa, play "Supermassive Black Hole".

Cast your mind back to 2008 — iPods were still very much a thing, "Single Ladies" was being sung just about everywhere and, of course, Twilight mania was in full swing.

And even though it's been 12 years since we were blessed with it — yes, BLESSED because it's the Twilight renaissance, baby and we are embracing our love of it — nothing has been able to top the sheer perfection of that baseball scene.

Now, to truly get into the ~mood~, I suggest you start playing "Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse — better yet, put the whole Twilight soundtrack on because it's filled with bangers.

Okay, to start off, the baseball scene perfectly blends together sound and visuals. Like, the rumble of thunder as Rosalie hits the ball? I felt that through my screen.

It's also the first time we see the Cullens loosen up and just be themselves — which is basically a combination of peak vampire performance and good ol' sibling rivalries.

There's Emmet — aka everyone's fave himbo — doing this warmup that doesn't really make sense to me, but I still love.

And there's Alice with her pitch-perfect serve that is actually listed as an example of when cinematography peaked*.

Rosalie manages to look like an absolute angel — that could still fuck you up if you look at her the wrong way — while running.

Even Carlisle gets in on the action, with this shakey-shakey bat move which really amps up the sexual tension — that shouldn't exist in this scene, but somehow does???

And, of course, there's Jasper being absolutely iconic in every single way with his casual bat swings. Like, sir, could you BE any more attractive?!

This will forever live in my mind rent-free.

I don't have any concrete evidence, but I can confidently say that Twilight was probably responsible for a significant increase in people wanting to play "America's favourite past time".

And I get it, because every single moment of this scene is just at the *Italian chef's kiss* level of perfection.

The music? Perfect. The cinematography? Top of its game. The acting? God tier level. The dialogue? Cringe, but that's how we like it in Twilight.

In conclusion: There is no better cinematic moment than the baseball scene in Twilight. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be watching it on repeat for at least two hours.
