WHAT👏 A 👏HUGE 👏YEAR👏.
With more than 28 billion streams — yes, 28 BILLION streams – Drake held off other major players like Ed Sheeran and Eminem to land the top spot. To put that into perspective, that's larger than the population of Australia.
On the other hand, Ariana landed the most streamed female artist, beating out the likes of Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Sia and Beyoncé herself.
It's worth noting that "Dance Monkey" not only nabbed the most streamed Aussie song, but came in at number two on the global charts as well. What a win for local content and artists!
Plus, it beat out fan-favourites like 5SOS's "Youngblood".
FYI, "Señorita" has clocked in over a BILLION streams, followed closely by "bad guy" with 990 million streams.
And if you're wondering how many streams it takes to be the number one song of the decade, it's a tidy 2.3 billion.
She was followed closely by Post Malone's Hollywood Bleeding, Ariane Grande's thank u, next, Ed Sheeran's No. 6 Collaborations Project and Shawn Mendes' self-titled album.
Oh, and if you're keen on seeing what your own personalised "Wrapped" will look like, Spotify will be releasing those later this week.
