Aussies Are Calling On Macca's To Bring Back Flurried McFlurrys And I Agree With Them

Feel like pure shit, just want actually flurried McFlurrys back.

From Big Macs to Frozen Cokes, to six-pack nuggs served with sweet and sour sauce, it's no secret that Australians love Macca's.

But today, we have a bone to pick with our fave fast food place — and it concerns one of the most beloved dessert options available...the McFlurry.

Now, not to sound like Abe from The Simpsons, but back in my day, McFlurry's were, well, they were flurried — meaning that the toppings you had added to that creamy soft serve were mixed together by a special machine.

That's why they're served with that odd-looking plastic spoon, which is hollow on the inside and has those hooks on the top.

As seen in the TikTok video, the spoons were specifically designed like that so they could be hooked directly onto the McFlurry machine, which would then flurry the toppings and soft serve together.

Also, this TikTok was made in 2021, which means that McFlurry machines still exist...just not in Australia!!! This is a crime.

And that meant your McFlurrys were always perfectly balanced and mixed to perfection — no running out of Oreo crumbs because you chomped them all in the first couple of bites.

Nowadays, if you order a McFlurry in Australia, you're given a cup of soft serve with some toppings added. There's no mixing, flurrying or stirring going on here — which doesn't make sense to me, considering that it's called a McFlurry and not a sundae.

I mean, you could mix it yourself, but it'll never turn out as good as being flurried by an actual machine. Instead, we have to make do with what we're served, which just ain't up to scratch.

Aussies are rightly mad, calling on Macca's to bring back the original McFlurrys they know and love through BuzzFeed Australia's Facebook page.

So, why did the McFlurry machines disappear in the first place? We reached out to Macca's a while ago and a spokesperson told us that the machines took up too much bench space.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've never received a hand-stirred McFlurry in all the years since Macca's have implemented this change.

But what are your thoughts on the matter? Should Macca's grant us this wish and return our beloved McFlurry machines so we can have properly flurried McFlurrys? Or are they perfectly fine as it is?
