Hope Emerges: A celebration of life after breast cancer.
My name is Nic.
Our bodies are a beautiful thing. They give us the gift of life, but sometimes they work against us.
In 2005, my 2 year old daughter Kenzie and I both battled aggressive cancers.
I survived.
Kenzie’s tremendous show of courage during her short life gives me the strength and inspiration to carry on. I miss her every day, but Kenzie taught me to live life, to love it, to laugh at it and to listen to it.
Cancer leaves its scars. Both physically and emotionally.
For women facing breast cancer, the decision to have a mastectomy can lead to feelings of loss, grief, insecurity and self-doubt.
To help empower women to love the skin they are in, I decided to bare all.
Our bodies maybe different, but the artistic skills of doctors can leave our bodies looking feminine and beautiful.
More and more women have joined the project, becoming Hope Emerges Heroines for other women facing breast cancer.
