Cats are a great choice for people with busy lifestyles, as they're quiet and rather low maintenance, and they're especially nice if you live in a small house or apartment. You don't need to train them or take them for walks, and they can pretty much clean themselves. They're independent and don't require constant attention, but that doesn't mean they're not friendly. Cats can be very loving and are often content to just be in your presence. They also have a calming energy that can put you at ease.

There's a reason why dogs are called man's best friend. They can improve your mental and physical wellbeing by increasing your happiness and encouraging you to move more. Dogs have lots of energy and give you unconditional love. They need socializing, so you might get a chance to meet new friends while your pup plays at the dog park or walks with you around the block. They even take on your personality traits, so make sure to treat your dog the way you want them to treat you!

Birds are extremely social, intelligent, and entertaining. They can be taught to talk if you have enough patience for training and are great at playing games and performing tricks. They actually form very close bond with their owners, and many enjoy being held and petted. Birds are relatively easy to care for and commonly live in cages, so if you have a busy life that requires you to be away from home, you don't have to worry about anything happening to them.

Bird

Although some may see them as scary, snakes are actually some of the easiest pets to own and are much friendlier than their reputation suggests. They don't need to be walked or trained to use the toilet, and they actually use the toilet quite irregularly, so cleanup is fairly easy. They're quite docile pets and, as long as you pick one that's non-venomous, can cause less harm than dogs or cats do.  They're also very affordable, with care normally only costing single digits per week.

Snake

Hamsters make great pets, especially if you're new to owning animals. They can be very cuddly and nice to hold. They're also adorable and entertaining to watch, as they love to run on wheels, squeeze through tubes, and run around in hamster balls. Their cages are small, so they require relatively little space, and they're independent enough that they don't require constant attention. If you're lazy, cleanup is fairly easy as well.

Hamster

Ferrets are very intelligent pets and can be taught tricks, similar to dogs and cats. They can even be taken on walks or taught to use a litter box. They're playful, but they're also affectionate and form close bonds with their owners. They crave attention and have distinct personalities, making them fun to interact with, especially because of their curious nature. On top of that, they're obviously cute to look at.
