On Monday evening, a picture appeared on Facebook of a man dressed as Batman in Cumbria chasing after a clown. It was picked up by the BBC Cumbria page, and swiftly went viral.
A child who is scared of clowns because of the current "killer clown" craze heard about this and was inspired to write a message on the page of Cumbria Superheroes, a local costume company.
People are calling the Batman a hero and thanking him.
It looks like the days are numbered for "killer clowns", as Batman reassured kids scared of clowns and challenged the clowns to scare him.
