This has been spun with a media bias. The language has changed, but the Church’s stance on welcoming homosexual persons has not. Persons of homosexual/same-sex orientation have been and will continue to be welcomed in the Catholic Church. They are not barred from participation in the life of the Church and the Sacraments any more or less than a heterosexual person who finds him or herself in or out of “a state of grace” based on the dogmatic criteria of what constitutes, in the Church’s opinion, mortal sin. Just as heterosexual persons living chastely and properly disposed to the reception of the Sacraments, homosexual persons (under the same circumstances) are also welcome to receive the Sacraments. For those of you who took the time to read this whole post, thank you. For more accurate information on the Catholic Church’s stance on homosexuals, please visit www.couragerc.org
