Avatar's Disappearing Plant Actually Exists

Okay, so we admit that cinematic botany isn’t our strongest suit here at Boxwish, but having seen and loved Avatar even we were intrigued by the onscreen plant life. The lush flora of Pandora was so gorgeous, its bioluminescence adding a real sense of awe to the alien moon that, like Jake (Sam Worthington), we fell for its charms. And while many Avatar fans are miserable with the awareness that the movie’s magic isn’t real, we’ve found that one of its plants isn’t too unlike an actual one we have here on Earth.
