15-yr old Rachel Kroener has never let cerebral palsy stop her from achieving anything. In 2012, Rachel was named U.S. Paralympic Female Field Athlete of the Year. In addition to track, Rachel plays basketball on the Banner Wheelchair Suns JV team, and the Banner Wheelchair Mercury team. Rachel says that wheelchair basketball has changed her life completely. She is much more independent and because of her involvement with wheelchair basketball, she has more opportunities than ever. She is working hard toward the goal of a scholarship to play in the collegiate division. Rachel’s dream is to compete in the Paralympics for wheelchair basketball.
