The Hanna-Barbera karate 'toon "Hong Kong Phooey" is coming to the big screen, and Eddie Murphy is set to voice the kung fu canine.
Originally voiced by Scatman Crothers (a.k.a. Dick "How'd You Like Some Ice Cream, Doc?" Hallorann), Phooey lasted for merely three months and 16 episodes in 1974, but that obviously doesn't hinder Hollywood execs. After all, it's a talking dog that knows martial arts! A surefire CGI-sore waiting in the wings. (via.)
