    13 Things You Don't Know About Rapper G-Eazy

    Here's what you don't know about the not-so "random" artist.

    1. His real name is Gerald Earl Gillum.

    When he was a kid, he went by the nickname "G.E." from his initials, which he claims grew into "G-Eazy" when the time came for the rapper to make a name for himself.

    2. He's from the Bay Area and proud of it.

    3. Speaking of the Bay, he's a Golden State Warriors fan.

    4. His songs can get very personal.

    From his latest album When It's Dark Out, the song "Everything Will Be OK" delves into G-Eazy's childhood that involved leaving his brother behind to chase the fame of becoming a rapper and understanding his mother's choice to leave his dad for a woman. His mother's girlfriend's depression led to a fatal overdose in which he was the first to find her body.

    5. Before he became a solo artist, he was a member of "The Bay Boyz", a local hip hop group.

    6. His first independent album Must Be Nice, which he produced, wrote and recorded himself during the 2012 Vans Warped Tour, was No. 3 on the iTunes Hip Hop Chart.

    7. His interest in fashion has landed him a spot on GQ's Top 10 Most Stylish list at New York Fashion Week in 2014.
