The Lake Tanganyika Floating Health Clinic (LTFHC) is an NGO dedicated to improving healthcare access in the Lake Tanganyika Basin, a region containing almost 20% of the world's fresh water and over 12 million people.
Due to there being only a few passable roads, much of their work is done by boat, but having a land-based vehicle is still vital for conducting medical outreach and delivering healthcare to isolated communities. Unfortunately their trusty car, which has over a million miles on the clock, is on its last legs.
Despite the gravity of the work they do, and the serious threat that not having a working vehicle will pose to the work they carry out and the populations they serve, they still managed to incorporate some humor into their #GivingTuesday appeal, and we thought we'd share it with you, because who doesn't love a good pun.
Enjoy!
Dear Car...
It's not me, it's you...
Seriously... it's you
Age is not just a number...
Baby, you drive me crazy...
I can't rely on you...
... Clearly, we're through!
While their relationship with their current car may be over, the LTFHC is fundraising on CrowdRise for a younger, more reliable model.
