Ok this one can be justified if you live in an area with venomous spiders...or Australia, because have you seen the size of those things?! BUT, don't just go around killing every spider you see, especially if they're outside. Many spiders are harmless yet still vital members of our ecosystem that keep bug populations in check. So if you don't like other bugs too, let the spiders live!

You might feel like a child admitting this, but actually a lot of people fear the dark. I think there is something in us that innately associates the dark with the unknown, which can be terrifying. It doesn't help that many scary movies take place at night either!

Alright, this one makes a lot of sense, and you probably actually just have good instincts. As much as it breaks my heart, humans don't have wings. Your natural reaction SHOULD be to not want to stand on a cliff. You have a much better sense of self-preservation than all those people taking risky selfies. Seriously y'all, it's not worth it!

I know it's hard to remember when you're 35,000 ft in the sky, but soooooo many planes fly every single hour with no issues. Just because you feel more in control in a car doesn't make it safer, and they only show the bad incidents with planes on the news. Just pop on your headphones, binge your favorite tv show, and try to fall asleep so the touch down at your destination wakes you up!

Ok YIKES! This one is a little too real. I bet you have an insatiable need to please people and always wanted more acknowledgement growing up. I get it! But remember, "failure is not the opposite of success, it's part of success"!

Listen, I know it's a hard thing to be afraid of dogs in a world where everyone else loves them. Why do their owners let them run up and jump on strangers? I have no idea! You've probably had some run-ins with some mean dogs out there, but just know that ~most~ of them really will not bite you. Hope that helps!

Did you have one embarrassing experience in life that has left this as a lingering fear within you? Or have you just never really done much public speaking? One thing is certain — you don't love when all the attention is on you. Honestly, I think you should start going to a karaoke or open mic night just to rip off the band-aid!

I bet you hate elevators, long flights, and small bathroom stalls. You probably didn't like to play hide-and-seek as much as the other kids growing up, too. Unfortunately, this fear is a bit unavoidable and you'll probably have to face it decently often. Just breathe deeply and try to imagine yourself instead in a large, open field!
