You should go to Acadia National Park. This gorgeous park on Maine's Atlantic Coast is made up of woody green forests, serene ponds, and soaring mountains overlooking the rocky coastline. When you go, make sure to visit the quaint resort town of Bar Harbor — its main street is lined with ice cream parlors, cafés, and souvenir shops.

Your dream national park trip is iconic Yellowstone. This massive park touches three different states: Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. With its red canyon walls, tiered hot springs, the technicolor Grand Prismatic Spring, and the hissing geyser, Old Faithful, Yellowstone is so unique it looks almost like a landscape from another planet. Between hiking, rafting, and admiring the insane views, you could spend a month in Yellowstone and you'd never get bored.

Set in Montana's Rocky Mountains, Glacier National Park is one of the most picturesque spots in the country, and it's easy to see why. Snow-capped mountains reflect off crystal blue lakes and valleys stretch as far as the eye can see. Take the road trip of a lifetime along the Going-to-the-Sun-Road, a 50-mile scenic route that crosses the Continental Divide.

This gorgeous park encompasses the Teton mountain range and most of the valley of Jackson Hole. It isn't rare to find elk, moose, bears, and bison wandering around the valley floor. During the summer, it's home to more than 200 miles of hiking trails and the Snake River, a haven for rafting and fishing. During the winter, the Tetons become a popular skiing and snowboarding destination.

On Hawaii's Big Island sits Volcanoes National Park. The center of the national park is Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes on the planet — and around it, hundreds of miles of hiking trails stretch through volcanic craters and rainforests. After dark, the glowing lava lakes light up the night.

Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park

Just north of Moab, Utah, Arches National Park looks like it could be direct from Mars. Along the landscape you'll find over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, hoodoos, and pillars, which glow in red and orange hues. There are hiking and mountain biking trails perfect for any skill level, and there's even a scenic road if you'd rather observe the beauty from behind the wheel.
