Located on Mount Desert Island in Maine, Acadia is a hiker's paradise, perched on the Atlantic Ocean. From Cadillac Mountain and Jordan pond to Mount Champlain and The Beehive, you'll find no shortage of scenic trails overlooking the rocky Atlantic, serene lakes, and — if you visit during the fall — some of North America's most gorgeous foliage.

This national park lies on Washington's Olympic Peninsula and it's made up of enchanted-looking forests, jagged coastline, and snow-capped mountains. Hike the lush Forest of Mosses, kayak on Lake Crescent, or gaze at the gorgeous sea stacks on Ruby Beach.

The best known of Alaska's eight national parks, Denali is made up of glaciers, mountains, lakes, and insane wildlife like moose and grizzly bears. Whatever you do, don't miss out on a dog sledding ride — it happens to be the best way to get around and see Denali's beauty.

Where the Mojave and Colorado deserts collide, you'll find Joshua Tree National Park. As you hike the trails, you'll find fields filled with huge Cholla cacti, craggy rock formations, and scenic viewpoints looking over Coachella Valley. And just wait until nightfall: Joshua Tree boasts some of the most gorgeous starry skies you'll find anywhere.

Montana's Rocky Mountains are home to Glacier National Park, one of the most photogenic spots in the entire country. One of the park's highlights is the Going-to-the-Sun-Road, a 50-mile, windy stretch of road that overlooks glacial lakes, mountain peaks, and green valleys.
