1. When someone asks you how the job search is going, and you have to lie through your teeth.
2. When you call your mom to complain about how you're going to be unemployed for all eternity.
3. When you nitpick over every word in your cover letter to make sure it sounds perfect.
4. When you make yourself sound like a modern day superhero in your resume, but know that in reality none of the stuff you did is as cool as you made it sound.
5. When you give yourself a makeover in order to trick people into thinking you're mature and professional.
6. When you go through all of your social media pages and delete anything that might make you look undesirable to future employers.
7. When you dread having to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, because nothing you own can be catergorized as "business casual."
8. When you see or hear about people applying to the same jobs as you.
9. When you give yourself an awesome pep talk before walking into another interview.
10. When they finally call your name at an interview, and you realize that despite the pep talk, you're still completely, utterly unprepared.
11. When you have no idea how to answer one of the questions asked during your interview, so you end up spewing a bunch of BS.

14. When you walk out of your interview and beat yourself up for every little stupid thing you said.
15. When you don't land your dream job so your opinions about the company suddenly take a turn for the worse.
16. When you receive a call from another potential employer and pray to God that they're giving you good news after a seemingly endless heap of disappointment.
17. When your prayers have been answered and, against all odds, you have finally been hired.
