What's An Unconventional Way You And Your Partner Maintain A Healthy Relationship?

Putting in the work!

Relationships, even the best and healthiest ones, require work. Couples must always be working to communicate effectively, compromise when necessary, and lead with honesty.

Even when both parties try their best, sometimes rough patches are still inevitable. Some bumps in the road may require new strategies, whether small changes or unconventional approaches, in order to get a couple back on track.

Perhaps you and your partner never got the big wedding you'd always dreamed of. Money was tight, and you felt rushed into things because your parents wanted you to formally get married pretty much as soon as you found out you were pregnant. After a stressful few years of married life and child-rearing, you felt like you and your partner were in a slump. You decided to renew your vows and plan the celebration you'd always imagined. You both felt like sharing these updated vows helped you reset and refresh, and you now feel like your spark is stronger than ever.

Maybe you and your partner started to feel like your sex life was a bit boring and monotonous. After having a transparent conversation about your needs and desires, you and your partner decided to open up your relationship so you could both do some extra sexual exploration. It's made your connection stronger, and you no longer feel like your intimacy is stale or predictable.

Or perhaps you and your partner both began missing your independence and personal space a bit. It started to cause lots of unnecessary arguments and tension. You decided that since you both have such different habits and routines, you'd be more comfortable with having your own room. So, you each claimed a room and began sleeping apart. Though you still spend time in each other's beds, sleeping apart has allowed you both to get more rest and feel less annoyed with one another. It's practically saved your marriage.
