The restaurant industry is known for brutal hours, wild customer interactions, and taxing physical labor. People who work in restaurants have seen some STUFF. Most have amassed at least a few wild stories or secrets from their time at work, even those who work in fine dining where the environment *seems* prim, proper, and professional to those on the outside.
Maybe you worked at a nice restaurant that had enough drama to get its own reality TV show. People were hooking up, dating, breaking up, and fighting ALL the time. You caught people making out in the back more times than you can count. Your manager once got busted for sleeping with two employees at the same time. It was a WILD environment.
Perhaps you worked at a fancy country club restaurant that you absolutely hated. You dealt with some of the most entitled patrons imaginable and made worse tips than when you worked at a chain restaurant. You and your coworkers had nicknames for the regulars who you hated, and you'd go behind the scenes to make fun of them when they'd do something rude. "Booger-nose Bob is mad we don't have salmon on the menu today. I told him he was welcome to go catch one and we'd cook it right up for him."
Or, maybe you worked at a fancy resort restaurant that appeared pristine and well-run to the naked eye, but that simply wasn't the case. Despite the perfect white tablecloths, chandeliers, and high prices, the place was actually a mess. You frequently dealt with rats and roaches, you watched expired ingredients get used on multiple occasions, and staff ignored many hygiene protocols. You would serve customers with a smile, all the while knowing you'd never pay to eat at that dump.
