Here's Who I Think Should Star In The New Live-Action "Hercules"

I just wanna live in a world where I've heard Queen B sing "The Gospel Truth."

Well bless my soul, Hercules is getting the ole' live-action treatment, and anyone who loves the original as much as me knows that it's got a lot to live up to.

Now, the cast for the reboot hasn't been revealed just yet, but here's who I, a humble Hercules stan, thinks should be in it.

    Hercules – Avan Jogia

Herc's an uncertain guy who, despite being really hot, is totally charming. As for Avan – look at that face – how could we not root for him our favourite God?!

    Megara – Ariana Grande

Ponytail? Check. Flawless voice? Check. Unbothered nonchalant attitude? Check! Listen to her version of "I Won't Say I'm In Love" and you'll see that it's what we deserve.

    Phil – Danny DeVito

    Duh.

    Zeus – The Rock

I'm surprised that The Rock hasn't starred as a Greek God more, because he has all the charm, statute, and presence of Zeus. You know it makes sense.

    Hera – Angelina Jolie

Literally the queen of the Gods, Hera is equal parts hot mum and total boss – two things that come naturally to Ange.

    Hades – Stanley Tucci

I don't know why, but this just feels overwhelmingly right for him to play the evil God of the Underworld. And who doesn't want to see Stanley and The Rock play brothers?!

    Pegasus – Tiffany Hadish

There'll obviously have to be some CGI for this one, but I can't imagine anyone else playing this sassy sidekick. Plus, her autobiography is called The Last Black Unicorn, so we know she's all about horse life.

Pain and Panic – John Mulaney and Nick Kroll

If Big Mouth has taught us anything, it's that when it comes to goofy comedy duos, these guys know exactly what they're doing. Plus, they're great at voices, which would come in handy for all their sneaky disguises.

    Amphitryon – Tom Hanks

If Hollywood was a family, I don't think it would be too out there for me to say that Tom Hanks would be its adoptive father. Can't you just imagine him trying his best to support young Herc as he tries to find his destiny?

    Alcmene – Emma Thompson

Like Alceme, she just exudes warm, kind, motherly energy. Plus, every live-action Disney film always has a cameo from a British icon, and Emma Thompon is nothing less than iconic.

The Fates – Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, and Amy Poehler

Look, I know these three are far too beautiful to play characters so ugly, but they've got the comedy genius to pull it off. Don't you wanna see Maya's eye fall out?

    And now for the Muses:

    Calliope – Beyoncé

I just wanna live in a world where I've heard Queen B sing "The Gospel Truth."

    Clio – Kelly Rowland

Buena Vista Distribution / Cindy Ord / Getty Images

Kelly is girl group royalty, so it would be nothing short of a crime if she wasn't in the lineup – just like Clio, she's got some pipes.

    Thalia – Lizzo

Buena Vista Distribution / Leon Bennett / Getty Images

Anyone who follows Lizzo on Insta knows that not only is she an amazing singer, she's hil.ar.i.ous, so playing the Muse of comedy would come naturally.

    Terpsichore – Normani

Buena Vista Distribution / Getty Images / Jon Kopaloff

Real Hercules stans know that Terps is the Muse of dance, and we all know that Normani can DANCE. Plus, she's already teamed up with Ariana, so you know their take on "I Won't Say I'm In Love" will be a bop.

    Melpomene – SZA

She's got the hair, she's got the voice, she's got the soul – sign up her right now!
