Book To Film Adaptations Change Things All The Time – Tell Us A Change That You're Glad Happened

I for one, am glad Mrs Little didn't give birth to Stuart in the film.

Book-to-film adaptations can be a bit hit or miss; sometimes it's just impossible to translate the words on the page onto the big screen.

Often, the changes that are made feel like a poor imitation, but from time to time they're actually quite necessary.

I was recently informed that, in the original Stuart Little novel, Stuart is somehow the family’s biological child, and I think making him adopted was a pretty good call…

So tell me, what’s a book-to-film adaptation that you were glad to see?

There’s a lot to say about Kubrick’s take on The Shining, but perhaps you’re happy that the book’s giant topiary animals were swapped out for the terrifying maze.

Maybe you appreciate that the movie version of The Witches transformed the kids back to their human form, instead of keeping them as mice with very short lifespans.

Or were you pleased to see that the film version of The Hunger Games made Peeta way more independent than he was in the books?

Whatever they are, tell us the changes you think improved an adaptation and why, and it might feature in a future BuzzFeed post or video!
