1. When she stayed up studying all night with Rory

Lorelai gave up her whole night helping Rory study for a huge exam at Chilton. After sleeping at a 90 degree angle all night, she willingly gave Rory her Jeep to drive to school after oversleeping. And who doesn't want a mom who can rock a headband like that?

2. When she helped Rory wallow

Rory's emotions finally catch up to her and Lorelai comes through in a huge way. A hug, a kiss, and a pizza with everything on it.

3. When she took Rory to Harvard

She called off her wedding and wouldn't explain it to Rory, but she took her to Harvard! Rory's big dream! She reassured Rory that Harvard is right and proved she's still got it by basically getting asked out at the bulletin board.

4. When she still wanted to celebrate with Rory

Rory made a horrible decision to go to New York and missed Lorelai graduating from business school. After Rory punishes herself, Lorelai's only response is to put it aside for the night and to celebrate with her best friend anyway.

Lorelei spoke so highly of her daughter and never once said she regretted keeping Rory. My heart melted into a puddle on the ground when she told Rory, " I just love my little fluke!"

Rory didn't get financial aid to Yale and Lorelai was willing to do anything to make sure Rory got her dream. Lorelai was willing to give up her dream of owning her own Inn to make sure Rory could have the life she wanted.

She drove back to Yale (twice) for Rory. She ordered at least $300 worth of food for her whole dorm. She rated the delivery boys. She spent the night in her dorm, on the old Yale mattress. Lorelei, I love you.

I can't imagine college ballets being all that great, but Lorelai gave up a night of her life to go to it just to spend time with her busy daughter

Sure, she may have been dead broke, but she took a whole day off just to window shop with Rory after both of them had just had major breakdowns

Rory dropped out and did some really stupid things, but Lorelai welcomed her best friend back with open arms and a ton of junk food.

Sure, this song was intended for Luke, but a mom who is willing to do karaoke with her daughter is a winner in my book.

Her best friend is graduated and got a job on the campaign trail. As Rory said, she had given her everything she needs.
