Jodie Sweetin Shared How “Disappointed” She Is Over Her Latest Film Being Sold To Candace Cameron Bure’s Great American Family Channel

Candace serves as Chief Creative Officer at the new network.

Jodie Sweetin is not on the same page as her former on-screen sister, Candace Cameron Bure.

Jodie's latest film, Craft Me a Romance, was recently sold to the Great American Family Network where Candace now serves as Chief Creative Officer.

According to GAF Twitter page, the network is: "America’s premiere TV destination for family-friendly programming, original holiday movies, rom-coms & fan-favorite series celebrating faith, family & country." 

The sisters became divided when Candace spoke to The Wall Street Journal last year about leaving the Hallmark Channel for the new network. In the interview, Candace said, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core. I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment."

Bill Abbot, the former CEO of Hallmark’s parent company Crown Media as well as the current president and CEO of GAF, previously faced backlash when the Hallmark Channel removed a Zola commercial that featured two women getting married. Candace has also previously praised Bill for his leadership and said she was “grateful” for their “long-standing” relationship: “I really grew alongside of him as he built the network.”

Yesterday, Jodie told People, "Sometimes, we, as actors, don't have control over which network buys the projects we are in, nor are we a part of the process in which they get sold."

"So I was very surprised to learn by reading about it in the press yesterday that the independent film I worked on over a year ago was sold to Great American Family," she said.

Jodie continued, "I am disappointed, but in keeping with my mission of supporting the LGBTQ+ family, any potential or future money made from this sale will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations."

This marks the second time Jodie has spoken out against her Fuller House sister. Last year, Candace was embroiled in another feud — the most unexpected with JoJo Siwa. Previously, JoJo posted that Candace was the rudest celebrity she's ever met in a TikTok video that went viral.

Later that year, JoJo slammed Candace’s comments on “traditional marriage” in a post on Instagram: "Honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people."

Jodie commented on the post in support, "You know I love you ❤️❤️," she wrote.

Following the heat of the The Wall Street Journal interview, Candace released a statement. She said, "I have great love and affection for all people." She continued, "I am a devoted Christian. Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately."

In Craft Me a Romance, Jodie will star as an owner of an arts and crafts store who learns that a competing company is demanding she sell her business or risk losing it.
