1. The Jehovah's Witness

No, this guy has nothing to do with religion. This is the type of guy who can approach any group of women and begin talking to them about any sort of nonsense, even if the group doesn't necessarily want him there. This guy is fearless, he may not have all the charm in the world, but that is what his lead man is for. Once the Jehovah's witness has the conversation going, that's the time to swoop in and start shaking more hands than the back up dancers in a Katy Perry video.

2. The Drunk Guy

Much like the Jehovah Witness, The Drunk Guy will approach anyone. This guy is loud, talkative and the life of the party. Like any party, the Drunk Guy can start to get out of hand, but this is not a bad thing. The more drunk the Drunk Guy gets the better his lead man looks. No girl wants to go home with a guy who can't remember where he lives, his more sober lead man however, now that's a different story.

3. The Assistant Coach

This is the type of guy who is probably in a relationship and is slightly uncomfortable being seen hitting on women at the bar. This wingman will not be initiating any conversations, but he will be off in the distance signaling a thumbs up to his lead man and ordering another round of shots. When the time comes for the two pilots to reconvene, the Assistant Coach is awaiting with a fresh drink and words of support such as "you're doing great out there" and "keep up the good work." The Assistant coach may not be making plays, but by God he cares!

4. The Trebek

This guy is a question asking machine! How many times has a guy found himself engaged with a beautiful women at the bar and the conversation goes stagnant? No need to worry if The Trebek is flying shotgun. This guy will always keep the conversation going when his lead man can't. "What are you drinking?" "What do you do for a living?" "What do you think has been happening to all the bees?" The Trebek will ask questions but nothing to intense. His roll is to keep the conversation going until he is no longer needed, then he disappears faster than one can change the channel.

5. The Gay Man

Its 2015, if any friend group doesn't have a gay man in it by now, someone is probably trying to hide something. The Gay Man is a wingman who doesn't have to worry about initiating conversations, conversations come to him. Science has yet to prove why, but somehow slightly inebriated women are drawn to gay guys. If gay guys were just occasionally straight, women would be on them like half priced carnival rides. The Gay Man is charming, complimentary, and he'll inform his lead man if he looks like a slob before hitting the bars. As charming as this wingman can be, one thing is for certain, he is not going to steal the girl.

6. The Fail Safe

Most men say the best wingman is a wingwomen, and in the case of the Fail Safe that is absolutely true. The Fail Safe is one of the lead man's closest female friends. She is attractive, charming and very fun to be around. The Fail Safe has all the features a typical wingwomen would have, except for one major detail. The Fail Safe and her lead man occasionally hook up. Neither of the two parties is interested in dating one another. Both however, will come to the realization that unfortunately some nights at the bars, everyone looks creepier than an uber driver in a windowless van. Despite how good anyone's wingman skills are, nights like these can end in failure. This is why the when failure is imminent, it is always safe to be with the Fail Safe.
