19 Doughtnuts For 19 Single Years
A month ago, aka Valentines Day, I made my way across New York in single digit weather to visit nine different doughnut places. Though I didn't make it to all of them I still ate 19 donuts and after recovering my sugar coma and potential diabetes I compiled a list of the pastries and compared them to the type of boys you'll meet in life because it was valentines day and no one needs another post describing what a donut tastes like. *Presses play on "If I Were A Boy" by Beyonce*

The Boy Band Boy
This is the your first crush, the 'perfect' doughnut. Cookie Cutter, Mass produced Doughnut that you love unconditionally till you realize there are more doughnuts out there with actual substance and originality. But on occasion you still find yourself picking up a dozen and eating them in your car to remember a simpler time, quickly realizing there's absolutely no substance to them and far more interesting things out there.

Samoa and Snickers doughnuts-original, delicious, and cheap; you think you've hit the mother-load. And yes these select doughnuts are amazing and they might ultimately become "the one"( you're fav donut not your husband) but those are only two of the flavors offered, there are so many available its hard to find the perfect one and when you step back you see that every other small donut shop is doing the same thing. You feel betrayed and just like any college boy, this donut seems to have its life together but its really just wanting to chill and be spontaneously adventurous but are just gonna stay where they're at right now for the next 10 years.

It's late at night and you're starving but have nothing but "I'm trying to be a health and fitness blogger" food left in your kitchen. So, you decide to go down the block and pick up the most delicious, chocolate rainbow sprinkled donut 99 cents can buy. You take a bite walking home and it's alright, just what you wanted. But just like most late night tinder benders, you wake up with instant regret and stains on your sheets.

Really nothing special, and definitely not something you're going to plaster all over social media, but hey it's convent, you know its pretty good and like a casual hook-up who might help you move furniture, you can also get cheap coffee out of them too

They get you when you first walk in, appearing cute and casual with a slight hipster vibe but still have their shit together. But then you take the bait and find out their actually cold, small and shriveled up and now you're stuck with a $6 bill of a flavor you're not even that into.

The Underdog That You'll Always Love
A little rough on the outside and not really hyped because its lack of aesthetic. But once you get to your donut you know this one is pretty dope. Its like the nerd kid that low-key a total pothead and will eventually be the next Mark Zuckerberg. Side-note this was my fave.
