After the latest season finale of Game of Thrones there is no denying that the women are in control. When it comes to getting shit done, the female characters on GoT seriously stepped up this season. So, lets have a look at the women most likely to take the Iron Throne in the final season.
Daenerys Targaryen
This season not only has the Mother of Dragons destroyed Vaes Dothrack to lead the Dothraki army, she has restored peace to Meereen and is now leading a whole fleet of ships to Kings Landing with two allies, Dorne and the Greyjoys, by her side! All of that without a braid out of place. What the Mother of Dragons wants, the Mother of Dragons gets.
Sansa Stark
Having survived manipulation from Joffery, been forcibly married to both Tyrion Lannister and the blood curdling Ramsay Bolton, gone are the day of timid, helpless Sansa. Season six confirmed how badass this girl really is. Sansa proves herself a great strategist by saving the day, and Jon Snow's ass, at the Battle of the Bastards to win back Winterfell. She also confronts Littlefinger for all his wrongdoing and finally gives Ramsay his comeuppance.
Arya Stark
This season started with a venerable, blind Arya biding her time fighting to become 'no-one' and then BAM she remembers she is a Stark and that she can do more than wash dead bodies. To get out of her contract she kills the waif after an epic chase and gets revenge for her family by slitting Walder Frey's throat, crossing another off her list. Arya is back to being the Arya we know and love. We are looking forward to the inevitable Arya/Hound confrontation in Season 7!
Cersei Lannister
What can I say…Cersei now sits on the Iron Throne. After finally getting her revenge on the High Sparrow and burning most of Kings Landing with Wildfire, Cerci has no more shame. However, she also lost her last child Tommen, to suicide, and will most likely loose the love of her brother, all in the name of the crown. Now that she has the throne how long will it be before she loses it again?
Lyanna Mormont
Admit it, no-one steals a scene as well as Lyanna. Who can forget the icy look she gave Ramsay at the Battle of the Bastards? Classic. In the finale, it is 10-year-old Lyanna who unites the local houses together to declare Jon Snow as King of the North. If that's not power, I don't know what is.
