Police raided the clinic and charged the man with 16 sex-related offences on Friday morning.

A Sydney chiropractor has been charged with sexually assaulting one of his patients over multiple appointments.

Police allege a 31-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and "sexually touched" on multiple occasions while being treated between January and April.

The woman reported the alleged incidents to police who commenced an investigation, and the 44-year-old chiropractor's York Street clinic was raided on Friday morning.

Police arrested the chiropractor, took him to The Rocks police station and charged him with five counts of sexual assault and 11 "sexual touching" offences.

The man has been refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court on Friday afternoon, police said in a statement.
