Police Have Confirmed The Bodies Of Four Children And Three Adults Have Been Found At A Margaret River Property

    Seven people have been found dead at a home on a rural property near Margaret River in Western Australia's southwest.

    "Police are responding to an horrific incident at Margaret River," WA Police commissioner Chris Dawson told reporters on Friday.

    "Two firearms have been located at the scene."

    Officers were this morning called to the Osmington property (270kms south of Perth) where they found the bodies of four children and three adults, Dawson told reporters.

    "This devastating tragedy will no doubt have a lasting impact on the families concerned, the whole community and, in particular, the local communities in our southwest."

    Homicide Squad detectives from Perth are assisting local police in investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy, which posed no threat to public safety, he said.

    "This will be a very large scale and detailed investigation," Dawson said.
