Star-Lord brings Kevin Bacon directly into the super hero world with his references to the actor and the film and is nuanced by his love of dancing. BTW there's a better and funnier Footloose remake called Our Footloose Remake you can watch for free on Vimeo.

4. Pitch Black- 2000

This is such a surprise winner of a movie. It was totally out of nowhere but I great character was born, Riddick. It's one of Vin Diesel's best performances and has unfortunately tried to be duplicated unsuccessfully. Anyway, Vin is Groot in the film and he's great, second best performance. There's just something about an unexpected great space flick!

5. Space Balls- 1987

This is one for fun and absurdity. We all know Star Wars is the prototype for any space flick and SpaceBalls is a great parody. The narrative is a little similar where they start off on a quest for money but then truly find themselves. Couple in a anthropomorphic half man/ half dog named Mog and you see the parallels of hilarity.

6. Howard The Duck- 1986

Let's talk about the Howard the Duck's post credit scene. James Gunn has said its simply a joke and nod to the character. Seems much ado about nothing. A large number of fans were delighted by the cameo, talk about your easter eggs! Get it, cause he's a duck..... The 80's movie by George Lucas was and remains an atrocity (poor Lea Thompson wishes it never happened, I'm sure) but still maybe James Gunn liked the film or the comic. Either way Lucas would be the last person I would chose to tackle Howard the Duck material. He might deserve a re-boot but that remains to be seen.
