Beautiful, Intimate Instagrams Of Life In New York City

Amy Touchette's beautiful photographs prove that street photography is alive and well.

Amy Touchette is a master of street photography in the busiest of all concrete jungles, New York City.

But instead of relying on an expensive camera setup like most professionals, Amy chooses something a bit closer to the street: Instagram.

Over the years, she has accumulated a huge collection of spontaneous portraits, all taken with an iPhone, of New Yorkers of all types and ages.

What her photos reveal is a portrait of bustling city and a unique perspective that feels closer to reality than most photo-journalism today.

Her photos capture the faces and lifestyles of a city as diverse as the people who call it home.

And prove that it's not the camera you choose that makes a good photograph, it's how you use it.

Nearly 100 photos from Amy Touchette's "Street Dailies" series are on view at Max Fish Bar in New York, NY, from November 24, 2014 - January 3, 2015.
