It's hard to truly focus when you're working in a messy space. Take a minute to throw away any unneeded papers, straighten your study supplies, and use some bleach to clean all traces of your ex-wife's blood from the area.

We all know the trap of telling yourself you'll only take an internet break for 5 minutes. Next thing you know, it's 3 hours later, you haven't touched the essay you were planning to write, and you're naked! Procrastination, be gone!

Rewrite your notes!

Sometimes, all it takes to make a hard concept stick is to look at it in a different way. A great way to do this is to rewrite your notes in a different format. Here’s an example of mine:

Setting rewards is a great way to motivate yourself to finish studying. For example, you can promise yourself that if you study for 30 minutes, you'll get to drink a bottle of Robitussin!
