14 Things All Girls Who Go To Engineering School Know

    The Greek alphabet lol.

Being an engineering student isn't easy.

    Math and Physics are EVERYWHERE.

    And so many men.

According to the Rochester Institute of Technology, "women hold only 24 percent of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) jobs in the United States." Careers in these fields have always attracted more men than women but things are slowly changing - there is an increasing number of girls opting for STEM degrees, especially engineering. The men-to-women ratio may vary depending on the country and the field but still, so many men.

So girls in engineering go through some stuff until they graduate.

    1. If you got late to your first class, some guys stared confusedly at you.

    2. Others stared at you in a not so confused way.

    3. And when you spotted another girl in your class you nodded at each other.

    4. You have been asked for your notes at least once.

    5. And if your code didn't work you would get immediate help.

    6. You're almost never insecure about your outfit because someone will always stare.

    7. But if you work too hard on the outfit someone will be judging from afar.

    8. Eventually you find people as nerdy and geeky as you are.

    9. Study rooms and libraries are places where you can peacefully watch your anime.

    10. People will hold the door for you. A lot.

    11. Eventually the guys in your class forget you're a girl.

    12. And you even make fun of other engineering degrees with them.

    13. Despite the 16 tons of work, you have the best time of your life.

    14. Engineering might be hard on you sometimes but you wouldn't want it any other way.
