10 Bad Movies Are Rated Better Than "Fifty Shades Of Grey"

Mr. Grey will see you now.... Nah, he can wait.

It's been almost a week since the erotic fantasy film (read: domestic violence thriller) hit the cinemas. Despite all of the hype prior to coming out it hasn't been a hit with the critics.

At the time of writing this, 65,591 people have given their opinions on IMDB about the film, leaving it with only a paltry 4.1 average score.

This led me to think, what critically slated films have had a better reception than this? Below are some of the best, all based on their IMDB scores.

1. Movie 43 (2013)

IMDB Score - 4.4

If you haven't seen this, then you aren't really missing out on much. It's essentially devoid of a plot but does boast some big name stars.

2. Freddy Got Fingered (2001)

20th Century Fox / Via imdb.com

IMDB Score - 4.5

This film follows Gord (Tom Green) as an out of work cartoonist, and that's as far as the plot goes. The remainder of the films 87 minutes run-time is filled with the kind of stunts that Tom Green did in the 90's that some people found slightly amusing.

For those of you too young to remember Tom Green and his antics, check out this video for his "Bum Bum Song". It'll give you a guide to the level of maturity you can expect from the film.

3. Zombie Strippers (2008)

IMDB Score - 4.2

It's a film about strippers... that turn into zombies. That's all there is to it.

4. Doom (2005)

IMDB Score - 5.2

This was another film that was hyped up to the max, and with the exception of a small "first-person-shooter" style scene it was terrible. Still scored higher than 50 Shades though.

5. Twilight (2008)

IMDB Score - 5.2

Famed for having Kristen Stewart looking surprisingly stoic throughout the entire "saga", this film was also the breeding ground that gave us 50 Shades with it originally being based on Twilight fan fiction.

6. Not Another Teen Movie (2001)

Columbia Pictures / Via imdb.com

IMDB Score - 5.7

It tried to be both a parody of teen movies whilst still being a teen movie itself. The irony was unfortunately lost.

7. Big Momma's House 2 (2006)

20th Century Fox / Via imdb.com

IMDB Score - 4.5

Both this, and it's predecessor (IMDB Score - 5.0) scored higher.

8. Sharknado 2: The Second One (2014)

IMDB Score - 4.3

Brought to us by the fine people over at "The Asylum" who've previously given us such classics as "Snakes on a Train" and "Transmorphers".

Fans of 50 Shades will be happy to hear that their film did rank higher than the original "Sharknado" which only scored a rating of 3.3.

9. Daredevil (2003)

20th Century Fox / Via imdb.com

IMDB Score - 5.4

Comic book fans are hard to please en mass, but this one failed on all levels. It could be seen as such a bad film that they're going to be trying again this year to bring out a better version.

10. American Pie Presents: The Book Of Love (2009)

IMDB Score - 4.7

In the SEVENTH incarnation of the "American Pie" franchise it's hard to see any resemblance to the original film. Eugene Levy is the only constant within all of the films which goes to show that he will either do anything for money or that someone, somewhere, has some very important pictures of him that he won't be getting back until he makes 10 of these films. Hang in there Eugene, only a few left to go.

This obviously has been done as a bit of fun, and isn't designed to belittle the fans of 50 Shades. But that being said, I'm open to making a sequel to this. So if you have any suggestions on bad films that are better than 50 Shades then leave a comment.
