1. NewGrange

Located in County Meath, Ireland

Newgrange is a prehistoric monument found in Ireland that was built during the Neolithic period approximately 3000BC to 2500BC, making it significantly older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian Pyramids. It is thought that the site has religious significance but to date, no agreement has been reached among archaeologists. After its initial use, the site was covered up until the 17th century, when it was re-discovered.

2. Havasu Falls

Located inside the Grand Canyon, Arizona

While there are many falls along the Havasu Creek, the Havasu Falls are the most famous and most visited. It has one main chute that drops over a 90-foot (27 m) to 100-foot (30 m) vertical cliff into a series of pools below. Unfortunately, in the image I captured, I was unable to zoom in any closer but what we can see shows a beautiful looking waterfall.

3. Cathedral of Trier

Located in Trier, Germany

The oldest cathedral in Germany, construction was completed in 1270. The cathedral was built using the foundations of many Roman buildings from the founding of the city, then called Augusta Treverorum by the Romans sometime before the birth of Christ. Previous churches built on the site were destroyed by invasions of the Franks in the 4th century and again by the Normans in 882AD.

5. Parliament Of The Czech Republic

Located in Prague, Czech Republic

This image shows the Wallenstein Palace. This is currently the home of the Czech Senate. The original Palace was built by the Duke of Mecklenburg in 1623-1630. The Duke, Albrecht von Wallenstein only lived in the palace for a year before he died but it remained in the Wallenstein family until 1945. After the Second World War, the building was renovated and became government offices.

6. Upheaval Dome Meteor Crater

Located in Moab, Utah

The Upheaval Dome Crater is estimated to be somewhere around 170 million years old. It is approximately 5 km (3.1 miles) in diameter and over 1000 feet (300 metres) deep. The asteroid that struck here is thought to be over 500 metres (1640 feet) in diameter.

7. Petronas Towers

Located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

The Petronas Towers, 451.9 m (1,483 ft) were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 and are still ranked number 12 but are still the world’s tallest twin towers.
