    A man has died after suffering serious burns at the Glastonbury Festival site on Monday evening.


    Avon and Somerset police said that they were notified about a man on fire at the Glastonbury Festival site at around 5.20pm.

    The man, who was believed to be in his twenties, The Guardian reported, was taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

    Police said that he was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he later died.

    The death is being treated as "unexplained" and is not believed to be suspicious. Police officers are continuing their inquiries.

    The fire is believed to have involved a petrol spillage, according to unconfirmed reports.

    The victim's next of kin have been informed.

    The incident took place shortly before the festival opens to the public on Wednesday.
