    10 Reasons to Holiday in Pembrokeshire this Christmas

    With the dazzle of the Christmas lights and the picturesque views of the sea, Pembrokeshire has more to offer than ever. Next month with the build up to Christmas, events will be taking place throughout the county. Including fun things for the children, so you can enjoy wonderful family days out. Not only that Pembrokeshire is the perfect destination for a cosy couple’s retreat. If you are looking for the perfect winter get-away this year, keep on reading and I will tell you what is coming up in Pembrokeshire.

    1.Saundersfoot's famous St Nicholas Christmas Market

    I am positive that all the little ones out there will want to come and visit Santa in his Grotto. The perfect opportunity is Saundersfoot's Christmas Market, which will be taking place on the harbour from the 6th December until the 8th December 2014.

    Not only will Santa be there, he will also be switching on the lights at 6:30pm, Friday 6th December.

    There will be so much to do in and around the heated 60-stall marquee, including demonstrations by famous chefs, children's rides, live music and plenty of Pembrokeshire produce to taste and buy. So come along to this seasonal showcase of food, drink, gifts, crafts and other attractions.

    2.Torch Theatre – Aladdin

    Who doesn't enjoy the pantomime at Christmas? Why not take your family to Milford Haven's Torch Theatre where Aladdin will be showing from the 20th – 28th December (not including 25th/26th). There will be 2 daily performances at 2pm and 6pm and only costs £15. Definitely worth seeing!

    3.Narberth Winter Carnival

    Taking place on the 14th December is Narberth's Winter Carnival and Christmas market.

    The market will be in the Queens Hall from 10am-3pm, with lots of stalls for you to take a look at, including crafts and food. Santa will be there in his grotto from 11am-1pm and 2-3:30pm. Come and tell him what you want for Christmas and you will also get a special goodie bag!

    From 4-5pm there will also be a children's' disco, for all the kids to blow off some steam and get them in the party atmosphere before the grand carnival parade at 6pm.

    4.Folly Farm

    If you have been to Pembrokeshire in the summer months and have children, I'll bet you have heard of Folly Farm and may have even visited this spectacular adventure park. Well good news! It's open on weekends up until December 22nd.

    Not only will you be able to see all the farm and zoo animals, but you will be able to see a magic show and see Santa in his grotto. Another great family day out is Heatherton. You will be pleased to know that it is also open throughout the winter.

    5.Tenby Santa Fun Run

    The Santa run will be taking place at 12:00pm on Sunday 15th December. There will be more than 200 Santa's running approximately 3k through the streets of Tenby.

    All money raised will go to Wales Air Ambulance, Pembrokeshire. Come along to this memorable event, it's the perfect way to start the Christmas celebrations.

    6.Tenby boxing day swim

    Come and celebrate another top festive tradition. The theme of Pantomime has been chosen for this Christmas's legendary event, now in its 43rd year. High tide on Boxing Day morning coincides with the 11.30am start of the swim.

    Tenby Boxing Day Swim started in 1970 and has snowballed into Tenby's main Christmas attraction. With around 600 swimmers and thousands of onlookers each year, this fantastic spectacle is not to be missed.

    7.Saundersfoot's New Years Day Swim

    This year will be Saundersfoot's 30th New Years Day Swim. Come and watch over a thousand people brave the cold for their chosen charity. Why not give it ago yourself! Check the website out for more details.

    8.Ocean Commotion

    Ocean Commotion is an indoor children's playcentre located in the heart of the walled town of Tenby, in Lower Frog Street, just a short walk away from the beaches and shops. This Christmas Santa will be there in his grotto, make sure you go and see him.

    9.Pembrokeshire Beaches

    Wrap up warm and head to one of Pembrokeshire's beautiful beaches. There's nothing like taking a long walk along the sea shore in winter. Head over to Fresh Water West, its one of the most picturesque beaches in Pembrokeshire. In the winter the beach feels truly timeless as it has no man made structures.

    Tenby's beaches are also outstanding. Why not take a walk along Castle Beach and head up to Café Vista for a large mug of coffee to warm yourselves up.

    There are also plenty of great pubs and restaurants in Pembrokeshire that we recommend.

    10.New Years Eve

    Tenby is one of the best places to be for New Years Eve. With a lively and buzzing atmosphere it is perfect if you are looking for an exciting NYE.

    Tenby has so many bars, restaurants and pubs for you to enjoy, with special menus over the New Year.

    Tenby House New Years Eve Party is the best! With Buffet, DJ's, dancing and Fun into the early hours.

    At midnight enjoy the atmosphere in Tudor Square as Tenby House provides the spectacular annual Fireworks Display to welcome in the New Year.
