I was so shocked and amazed at Rio's vocabulary that I ended up speaking to his owner, Natalie Acquaviva, to see how she's handling Rio's newfound virality.
"I've had Rio since he was 4 weeks old, and he's now going on 3 years old," Natalie told BuzzFeed. "I would speak and sing to him every day and tell him that I love him. He eventually started to speak when he was 7 months old."
"When he first started speaking, I was so excited and proud! His first sentence (as we all know from TikTok) was 'What are you doing?' I've been asking him that since he was 3 months old, and he just sort of picked up on it," Natalie continued. "His absolute favorite thing in the world to do is FaceTime and look at himself in the mirror."
