2015: The Year Of An Incredible Road Trip In The Australian Outback

We travelled over 14000km exploring the luckiest country on the planet.

    Our mode of transportation.

Ancient marsupials still exist in this part of the world.

    Juice a.k.a diesel.

    Opal-mining town, Coober Pedy.

An OZ icon. No introductions needed.

    Making friends along the way.

    Tanami Desert, land of termites.

Did you remember when a meteorite hit Australia 300000 years ago? No? Neither did I.

    Dusk is vibrant with colours.

Warm shower is a rare treat. Thank you, Mother Earth.

    Nature to human ratio.

    A hidden gem.

    Don't mind me.

    A true-blue-Aussie billabong.

Marlgu Billabong, Perry Lagoon National Reserve, The Kimberley, WA.

A road trip in the outback would not be complete without a river crossing, with an incredible backdrop.

Flat tyre is not an uncommon occurrence.

You can find friendly hospitality and 'sangas' in unexpected places.

    Ellenbrae Station, The Kimberley, WA.

The best OZ burger in the world!

Sorry, little guy. Didn't mean to hit you.

    Cool, fresh water.

King Edward River, The Kimberley, WA.

Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

Aboriginal rock paintings, The Kimberley, WA.

    An explorer in the making.

    Where I sit and reflect.

    What's in front of me.

    A face in nature.

    Vertigo

    Two thumbs up!

    No words...

Man's best friends: fire and food.

My vision is a little foggy.

    Do you believe in magic?

    We love our lizards frilled.

The road to Kalumburu was particularly bad. The night we arrived, we almost got robbed.

The only ocean we saw on this trip.

I had never done this before.

Not a bad spot for a swim.

What a dry and hot continent looks like.

Calm, blue water like no other.

    There's something about these trees.

    On gate duties.

    Can't complain, really.

Hey, look! It's Queen Victoria's nose.

These rocks are over 300 million years old.

My skin feels and looks like this riverbed

    Gentle freshies.

Freshies in here too! Not for the faint-hearted.

    Barred and bungled.

Where I feel small and insignificant.

Cooling down with a fellow traveller.

    In trance.

    Florence Falls.

Hands down! My favourite spot to soak in the sun.

    Expansive.

    Same spot. Two views.

Gunlom Falls, Kakadu National Park, NT.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. What a trip!
