Princess Tiana Is In Wreck-It Ralph 2 And She Looks A Lot Different From How We Last Saw Her

The first black Disney princess, Tiana, makes an appearance in the "Wreck-It Ralph 2" trailer and fans have a lot of feelings about her skin tone and natural hair.

The trailer for Disney's Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is officially here and it's soooooo lit. Most of the Disney princesses can be seen in the video, interrogating Vanellope on her royal status.

And while we're super pumped to see the dynamic duo back in theaters November 21, we're ~especially~ excited to see Princess Tiana, who's wearing her naturally curly hair in this EW photo exclusive.

Fans were so pumped, they started tearing up...

TIANA HAS NATURAL HAIR IN THIS I ACTUALLY STARTED TEARING UP

...Like, actually tearing up.

One user praised Disney, tweeting that they got it right.

LOOK AT PRINCESS TIANA'S NATURAL HAIR. OK DISNEY. YOU DOIN SOMETHING RIGHT. https://t.co/xCWLS2F9DT

And another tweeted their excitement in all caps, proclaiming that the movie, which hasn't yet premiered, is "GOLDEN!"

WAIT.... TIANA WITH NATURAL HAIR IN THE PRINCESS ROOM???????? EVERYTHING ABOUT RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET IS GOLDEN AND IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE

BUT DO YALL SEE TIANA WITH HER NATURAL HAIR HELL FUCKING YESSSS https://t.co/kGOAeC6sCb

Other fans of the first black Disney princess, however, were disappointed that the cartoon character looked significantly lighter.

Princess Tiana is NOT LIGHTSKIN!!! STOP DRAWING HER AS A LIGHT SKIN GIRL! I WANNA SEE HER HOW SHE WAS CREATED. YALL GOT ALL THESE SHADES OF WHITE THERES BROWN PENS TOO TF

People also noticed that her hair in the trailer looked brown, compared to her dark black hair in the original movie.

@lesbihayley I’m extremely confused as to who this is... was Princess Tiana’s skin tone and dark hair too hard to digitalize? https://t.co/M2f30gjiBR

I know they didn’t give Princess Tiana medium brown brazilian curly bundles and a medium brown skin tone to match

@ReignOfApril noted that while Tiana still looks black, her hair, skin tone, and facial features look more Eurocentric.

I mean... she still looks like a Black woman (with a questionable wig). But one is hard pressed to see Princess and the Frog Tiana in what they’re giving us now. Hair, complexion, facial features have all been changed. The question is... why? https://t.co/TWORymJQlp

Y’all don’t understand how important Princess Tiana is to Black girls. We finally had a Disney princess that looked like us, and now, she doesn’t. They gave her Eurocentric features and turned her into a racially ambiguous woman. It’s a no from me, dawg.

Overall, though, Team Princess Tiana is very excited about the new movie.

I was very excited for this film and I still am. But I cannot look away from this. So I fixed it. #RalphBreaksTheInternet #PrincessTiana #WreckItRalph https://t.co/7ocNQSt60u
