Known for her alluring vocals, catchy melodies and electric beats, singer/songwriter/performer, ERIKA JAYNE, is a bona fide queen of the charts. Born in Atlanta Georgia. Her mother and grandmother served as her first musical influences and inspirations, which inevitably lead to pop stardom. Her true love for the limelight started when she joined musical theater at the North Atlanta School of Performing Arts. Wanting to truly give the music business a try, at 18 she moved to New York and was in a few girl groups, but always wanted to step out on her own. Erika made her arrival on the club music scene in 2007 with her electro-hued track "Rollercoaster," off her debut album 'Pretty Mess' (E1 Records), which became her first #1 U.S. Billboard Hot Dance/Club hit. "Rollercoasters" success was followed by "Stars", "Give You Everything", and "Pretty Mess", which all landed as #1 on Billboards chart. In Spring 2009, 'Pretty Mess' album was released followed by Erika's next single, under her own label "PRETTY MESS RECORDS, "One Hot Pleasure" in the winter, which also hit #1. Two years later, Erika would release her newest #1 hit, "Party People (Ignite The World)" and land the cover of Billboard Magazine and be featured as their "Spotlight On" Artist. Erika now back in the studio working on her sophmore album and will release her second single, "United"in the Spring of 2012. For the past 5 years, Erika has been busy not only in the studio but on tour, making appearences all over the country, performing at Gay Pride, Matinee events, Hype Fridays @ Ultra Suede, Roscoe's Tavern, The Parliament House, HERE Lounge, House of Blues, Stripper Circus, just to name a few. Since her debut in 2007, pop singer Erika Jayne has dominated the top of the Billboard Dance Chart with hits like Stars and Party People (Ignite the World). Now the Atlanta, Ga., native is bringing her act to Toronto for the Prism Festival on Friday. Metro caught up with her at her L.A. rehearsal space before she heads north.
