2013 was a historic year for the LGBT movement across the U.S. Six states — Rhode Island, Delaware, Minnesota, Maine, Hawaii and Illinois — passed marriage equality laws. The Supreme Court struck down a key part of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The U.S. Senate finally passed ENDA and actually included gender identity!
