Ten Things You Unexpectedly Learned In English 103

As a group project for our English 103 class we had to make a buzz feed post. There are many things we learned this past semester that we didn't expect to. Here are some things that made our semester so memorable. By: Marissa Meehan, Connor Truitt, Sami Elhassan, and Amanda Golden

1. 90's music makes you a better writer

walking into class from day one we would hear nostalgic sounds of 90's music it would get us in the mood to learn and get us in a creative mindset.

2. How to view the world with compassion, not predjudice

Covering an array of topics that affect our world, we learned to see both sides of the story.

As college students we have many assignments to juggle and busy schedules. Our teacher could relate to our struggles and gave us extra time to finish our papers. Thanks you!!!

Wheather it's discrete or blatant an in depth look was given on how companies try and persuade us to buy products in a marketable fashion.

Equality for everyone: A simple message that was preached throughout the course that not only produced a great class environment but also ventured into the everyday

7. There's a Gif/Clip for every occasion.

Amid sometimes day content, our teacher always produced a relevant outlet of media to assist in putting themes and ideas into context. ( we couldn't find a GIF for this one)

8. Avengers are awesome

If you were not a comic book fanatic or action movie buff, the almost daily conversations of Marvel's Avengers may influence one to believe this isn't an English course. That is until, however the deeper meanings of the comic series directly apply to today's issues.

9. Harry Potter is relevant.

The inescapable series delivers countless inspirational quotes, to relevant issues that can all be used to enhance academics that our teacher made clear.

10. How to be a creative writer

By challenging ourselves through papers and reviews, an academic focus was produced while allowing our thoughts to have no boundaries.
