If you have watched the show "Scandal" then you'll know who I'm talking about, if not...go watch it (It's good!). I will start off by saying, I love Olivia Pope in this show, she is the protagonist and a really good one, but I think Mellie is a great character as well.
Mellie and Oliva are opposites in a lot of ways and balance each other, showing both sides of coin when it comes to power. While Olivia has influence she is active in her influence, making her a proactive character, whereas Mellie is stuck as stationary and has to back up her husband in order to retain hers.
She is unapologetic for her actions because she believes in what she does. I also appreciate her bluntness like this moment:
And sass like that is always good in my book.
She is obviously a smart woman and whether you like what she does on the show, I think she is a very interesting character portrayed by a wonderful actress. As one of the few people who can make threats to the POTUS (in the show) and actually go through with them, it's fun to see her and anticipate her next actions.
