    Hachette Books

This book is a kind of DIY memoir — it goes through three phases of "Early," "Middle," and "Later" years, and has 201 different prompts based on your memories, experiences, and views on the world. This also makes for a lovely gift for family members, so you can all preserve each other's memories!

Among the faves are this Duncan Hines Caramel Brownie (above), but trust me when I say I have tried every single Betty Crocker mug cake Target offers and have yet to find one I don't love.

BuzzFeed editor putting drops into glass of red wine
The drop it bottle in editor's hand
    Emma Lord/BuzzFeed

It's also a lot more cost effective and environmentally friendly than wine wands or other competitors — a single bottle of this can be used to treat up to 55 glasses of wine, as opposed to wands that can only do a few glasses each before they get tossed. Drop It recommends one to two drops for each glass of white wine, two to three for a glass of red, and seven to nine if you're treating the whole bottle at once. Once it's in the glass, swirl lightly for 20 seconds, and you should be raring to go!

Promising review: "I became really sensitive to wine in my 30s and through a lot of trial and painful error, I thought I might have to give up on wine altogether. Then I found out about the preservatives being a possible cause and decided to give this product a shot. So glad I did!! I'm still pretty sensitive to reds but this helps tremendously so that I can have a glass with dinner without a headache immediately settling in. Whites cause me no problem whatsoever! I love that it takes so little product to make a difference to a whole bottle. Just a few drops, a few minutes, and we are good to go." —CastawayIrons

Get it from Amazon for $14.99.

Promising review: "As graduate students, my friends and I are always finding new ways to destress. These little bundles ended up being the perfect gift! I gave them to colleagues and mentors. Some kept them in their car as opposed to using them in the shower, and others sat them on the counter to give the bathroom a fresh smell in general. I personally used them in the shower and it was a nice scent that stays around for awhile after each shower. The eucalyptus is nicely complemented by the lavender. They lasted the amount suggested on the item. Will definitely buy again for future gifts!!" —Macy

I carry my stress in my shoulders and neck, and I've found it difficult to sleep due to neck/shoulder pain. I live alone and no amount of stretching or self-massage was working. Enter this massager — OH MY GOD! Amazing! I got it out of the box, plugged it in and put it to work. My neck cracked/popped multiple times from my muscles releasing. I feel SO much better. A small glass coffee pourover with a cork around the neck of it and coffee inside

Promising review: "In my effort to slow my life down, I am choosing to make coffee in smaller, more 'hand crafted' quantities. It's paying off for me in a better-tasting cup of coffee ... and making me slow down and take more time with life. You can actually taste the difference in this coffee maker and pot at a time coffee. I am no longer making a pot, grabbing and gulping. I am now lingering in the making and drinking which adds to the enjoyment. Bought my daughter one too, so that she will start slowing down and smelling the coffee." —Deborah Daniel

Get it from Amazon for $19.84.

    21. An insulated weatherproof and soundproof strip that easily sticks to the outer rims of your door to dampen sounds coming from outside your room (as much as you love to buddy watch whatever your roommate has blasting on Netflix with their friends all night!!).

A reviewer's door with the strip already installed on the edges
A close up of what the strips look like in the middle that shows the foam part

Promising review: "Finally got around to putting this in. New neighbors have kids and this helps block out their yelling and other annoying sounds outside. It is two strips per roll, which is actually the width needed for my windows, door, and sliding glass door. I used a chopstick to push it into place since the spaces in my windows were exactly the width of each strip. I was amazed at how much sound this managed to block out, and it will likely do wonders for letting air escape during the hot summers here as well. I wish I’d put it in sooner and will be ordering more to finish sealing my sliding glass door." —Tabitha

Get it from Amazon for $8.97 (available in two colors).

    22. Plus a set of super-comfy wax ear plugs that mold to the shape of your inner ear like putty, fully blocking out noise so thoroughly that you'll feel like you're on your own plane of existence.

A reviewer with the earplug in their ear
A reviewer holding up an earplug, showing how it can get reshaped

TBH, I swear by these so aggressively that I have them on a subscription. They're like ear glue. My apartment is on a busy street and my upstairs neighbor is a noisy human being (does this count as a subtweet??) and once I pop these babies in I can barely hear a thing. Plus, my ears never get sore with these in like they do with headphones or other earplugs. You can check out my full review of Mack's earplugs for more deets!

Promising review: "Don't know what I would do without these! I have become a bit of a light sleeper from stress so with my husband's snoring and my son waking up to use the bathroom during the night, I needed some rest! I also never travel without!" —Anonymous

    24. Plus a tin of cocktail sugar or salt for the rims of your at-home cocktails that come in so many inventive flavors you might just call the Food Network to get your own bartending show.

A whiskey glass with a sugar rim
A container of citrus petals rim sugar
    Emma Lord/BuzzFeed

I started putting this on my end-of-the-week whiskey drink (the pandemic has made me go full Mad Men, who knew!!) and it is SO darn satisfying. I tried the citrus petals version, and it's got a light lemon, faint floral, and vaguely minty taste with its sweetness that just makes the whole experience a delight and a half. The container it comes in is actually quite wide, so what we did was pour lemon juice on the top half to prep the rim, and a bit of sugar in the bottom half to coat it. In other news, I am officially too fancy to exist.

Promising review: "Since COVID-19 I have become my own bartender. Taco Tuesdays and margaritas! The lime comes through so well with this salt. I use it for Bloody Marys as well. It is thick and chunky so it's a learning curve to get the right amount of salt on. Don't press down too hard if you don't like a lot of salt. I do like extra salt but my husband said it was a little much for him, so I have mastered just a light salt for him." —cobrajet427

Get it from Amazon for $9.53 (available in nine flavors).

    25. A self-care checklist you can use to check in on your human self, particularly if you're a loner by nature — sometimes it's good to have a little built-in structure, if there aren't other people around keeping you in a set rhythm ❤️.

Promising review: "Love it, I keep it in my office and love the different light displays, the little measure cup they send with it is perfect for measuring your water for it. The lights have two different displays lighter and darker in each color. It's really pretty as a night-light. The mist is very soft and runs a long time. I will be getting these as Christmas gifts. The ability to change the size is great, but I just love the different trays that are removable as well as the ability to put my phone and a Kindle in 'safe' areas of the tray. A reusable cooling and heating eye mask to take your relaxation game from zero to 100 in literally the second it takes to pop this bad boy out of the freezer (or the ten seconds it takes to microwave it). It also has a cozy plush backing to protect your eyes from the immediate chill, and a lot of reviewers swear by it for reducing the pain from pesky headaches and migraines.

Promising review: "I get headaches and migraines frequently. This has been AMAZING. It hugs your face/head and the gel beads can be moved around to hit the exact spots you need. The fabric on one side is so good for putting it over the eyes. I even use it on the underside of my neck for lower head migraines. Will definitely be getting these for my family. This is the best product I’ve ever bought for myself!" —Conley
