I like to say that "I'm not complicated, I'm detailed". I was always a square peg trying to get into the round hole, not realizing there were plenty of square holes out there. Does that even make sense? ;) I'm not married, I don't have kids and I haven't done a lot of the things I wanted to do in life, but I'm still pretty happy. I've done a lot since High School so I have a lot of stories some flattering, some shocking and some degrading, but I needed to get out and live so that's what I did. Since I've been out of High School I've lived in Phoenix, AZ twice for a total of roughly 4 years, Harrisburg, PA for 1.5 yrs and Indianapolis, IN for 4 years and counting. I never thought I'd find myself back in the Midwest - somewhere I fled with great enthusiasm almost 10 years ago - but there's something comforting about having family a car ride away and since I've slowed down my life, having scenery to match works out well =) I amuse myself at work by saying wildly inappropriate things to my coworkers, which they love. They like to joke that HR's phone menu has an option just for making complaints about me, but I like to remind people that this is just life and we shouldn't take it too seriously because it's the one thing we have that is sure to fail us someday. Sometimes people catch me spinning in my chair and look at me like I'm mad, but eventually, they spin too. I'm not entirely sure at what point in our lives we decided that spinning was "childish" and we shouldn't do it anymore. I find it melts the stress right away. I do some contract work on the side to keep my brain from divorcing me and I read as much as I can at work - anything from astronomy & physics to ancient history to cooking methods & recipes. My favorites lists at work are miles long and now I know everything I never needed to know about things like Mantis Shrimp (wiki that guy...he's ROUGH.) I'm a giant cynic but I try to be entertaining about it. I'm not a glum cynic, I'm more like a Seinfeld cynic (except I'm funny). I'm certainly not as grouchy as I may appear to be but only my friends really see that. I just like to point out all the ridiculous, stupid things in this world and simultaneously point out that it's best to laugh it all off.
