22 Times "Grey's Anatomy" Made Us All Sob Uncontrollably

MAJOR SHOW SPOILERS AHEAD. Let's hope that we can make it through this post without ugly crying.

In no particular order, here are the worst parts of Grey's Anatomy that have made all of us sob into our cereal bowls like we're Callie and Christina. All compiled on one very, very sad list. Please be warned: This list is filled with a lot of death... But what else can you expect from Grey's Anatomy?

1. Everyone singing "How To Save A Life" while trying to save Callie and her baby

This one's just a given. You take a well-known song that has been used on Grey's time and time again and then add some life-threatening surgery on one of the most beloved characters and it'll leave you sobbing like crazy.

2. Meredith cutting Christina out of her wedding dress.

3. Denny's death and Izzie refusing to leave him.

There are way too many terrible things in this one small scene... The worst part -- other than Denny dying after his successful transplant surgery -- is when Alex has to fricken' peel Izzie off of Denny's body. This scene has caused me unbearable pain.

4. The death of Derek Shepherd, obviously.

As if McDreamy's death wasn't sad enough, Shonda then had to go and take every great MerDer scene and mix them together as she's taking the love of her life off of his life support. That's just... Great. That's great. Thanks, Shonda.

5. When they realize that John Doe is George.

There was nothing sad about this episode until John Doe writes "007" on Meredith's hand and Meredith gasps "Oh God!" before she runs to find everyone.

6. And then George and Izzie meet in the elevator after they both code.

And the fact that they played "Off I Go" by Greg Laswell over this scene was just unnecessary.

7. Derek "dies" on the table after he gets shot and Meredith breaks down.

We all had a feeling that Gary Clark was no good from the very beginning.

8. Christina tells Teddy that Henry died on the table.

What makes it worse is knowing that he had died before Christina stepped into Teddy's surgery... A surgery where Teddy was happy and dancing, but Christina knew the entire time.

9. When everyone waited outside of Mark's room after Callie and Derek took him off of life support.

10. Mark holding Lexie's hand as she died and they planned out their life together.

Don't even talk to me about this one. Just don't. It's not worth it. I've never cried so hard in my entire life.

11. The episode with this terminally ill girl and her father.

This could only be me, but this is one of the only patient deaths that really stick out to me. He wanted so badly to get her to Mexico so doctors there could try to cure her...

12. Alex finds out that his father dies in the hands of a stupid intern and Meredith has to hold Alex back so he doesn't kill said intern.

We all know Karev didn't really like his father all too well, but damn that intern. There's nothing worse than Meredith's "Alex... Please, please" and the look on his face.

13. Christina welcomes George to the terrible "Dead Dads Club" after his father died.

Christina: George, I'm really sorry you had to join the club.

George: I don't know how to exist in a world where my dad doesn't.

Christina: Yeah, that never really changes.

14. Christina finally tells Owen what happened in the woods after the plane crash.

Christina: Noises. The animal noises. Fighting and growling right next to us, right there. I kept waiting for them to come and kill me, but they didn’t. Then I realized they were fighting over Lexie. I tried to keep them off of her. I tried. But I couldn’t get out. I can’t get out.

Owen: You're out now. I've got you, you hear me?

Christina: I can't get out. Don't you see? I'll never get out.

15. THE BOMB EPISODE.

Meredith talking like she's going to die. Burke reassuring her that she isn't going to die. Dylan (Kyle Chandler) talking her through it... And then Dylan blowing up at the end of the scene.

16. When Arizona fell down in the bathroom and Callie threw her in the shower.

You already felt terrible for both of the girls, but there's something awful about the look on Arizona's face when she realizes that she's not the only one hurting.

17. April tells Jackson that they're having a boy...

The baby's type II. We already know what's going to happen next, but that doesn't mean it didn't rip us to shreds.

18. ...and then their baby dies two episodes later.

Katherine: Now here's what we'll do. You will choose a day. Soon. Set it aside and arrange to be induced. And you'll give birth to your beautiful little boy and you'll give him a name and have him baptized right there. Then you're gonna get to hold that baby and you'll pray for him and sing to him. You're going to look at hi. You're gonna look at him and memorize every little detail of his face. And you will do that as long as he lives. You will do that until God takes him. That's how you will do this.

April: I'll just hold him until God takes him.

19. Amelia's meltdown after Derek died.

Every element of this scene breaks my heart.

20. Bailey holds Charles as he dies.

Let's break it down...

1. Bailey's freakout after she doesn't hear the elevator humming.

2. Mandy Moore trying to calm "Dr. B" down.

3. Bailey pulling Charles head onto her lap and telling him that he's dying.

4. Charles asking Bailey to tell Reed that he's always loved her and that he was a catch, a hot-hot catch.

21. Derek pulls Meredith out of the water after she drowned.

And the episode that followed where Meredith got to see Dylan, Denny, and Ellis again.

22. Christina's final scene on the show.

Christina: You are a gifted surgeon with an extraordinary mind. Don't let what he wants eclipse what you need. He is very dreamy, but he is not the sun. You are.

No one can say it better than Meredith herself: "Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Now that we got to the end, let's go take a dance break and forget that these things ever happened.
