    We recently asked members of the BuzzFeed Community what the wildest fact they knew about a singer was. Here are some of the best responses.

    1. Ariana Grande always wears her hair in a ponytail because it's permanently damaged from the years of dyeing required for her roles on Nickelodeon.

    Ariana had to bleach her hair and dye it red every other week for the first four years of her role in Victorious and Sam and Cat. As a result, she says it's "so broken and ratchet" that it looks "absurd" when she lets it down, even with her permanent extensions.

    2. Elvis Presley was a natural blonde.

    Elvis' former hair stylist revealed that his hair had to be dyed every two to three weeks in order to maintain his iconic jet-black shiny look.

    3. Katy Perry wasn't allowed to eat Lucky Charms as a child because her religious parents said the word "lucky" was associated with Lucifer.

    In fact, Katy wasn't allowed to use the word "lucky" at all – instead she had to say "blessed." And in their household, deviled eggs were renamed "angeled eggs."

    4. Kesha once broke into Prince's house to plant her demo tape in the hopes of cracking the music industry.

    She ended up bumping into Prince himself on the way out, who asked: "Who the hell are you?!" Kesha says she "pooped her pants," ran away and never heard from him again.

    6. Folk singer Janis Ian inspired Tina Fey's Mean Girls character of the same name.

    Tina says she chose to base the character on Janis because she related so much to her songs. In fact, in the scene where Aaron breaks up with Regina, one of Janis' songs, "At Seventeen" plays in the background. Tina would later sing a karaoke version of the same song in a 30 Rock episode.

    7. David Bowie had two different coloured eyes after being punched in the eye during a fight over a girl when he was young.

    Bowie's opponent's fingernail scratched the surface of his eyeball, paralysing the muscles that contract the iris and resulting in anisocoria – a condition in which the eyes have different-sized pupils. In Bowie's case, his left pupil remained permanently expanded, leading to the illusion of one eye being black and the other blue.

    8. Taylor Swift modelled for Abercrombie and Fitch before she was famous. Years later, they released a T-shirt mocking her relationships.

    In 2013, the brand released a T-shirt with the slogan: "More boyfriends than T.S." It was eventually pulled after backlash from fans.

    9. Taylor Swift wrote the whole of her third album, Speak Now, by herself after critics questioned her song-writing ability.

    She worked on the album between the ages of 18 and 20. Since then, she's collaborated with numerous writers and producers, but with her latest album Reputation, Taylor stripped things right back again and only co-wrote with three producers.

    12. Meanwhile, Perrie Edwards from Little Mix has no sense of smell.

    Perrie has a condition called congenital anosmia, which means she was born without a sense of smell. Perrie says she wears the same perfume every day despite not knowing how it smells because she's been complimented on it in the past.

    13. Justin Timberlake's mom became Ryan Gosling's legal guardian while they filmed The Mickey Mouse Club because Ryan's mom had to stay in Canada for work.

    As a result, Justin and Ryan lived together for six months when they were around 12 years old and developed a close bond.

    14. Adele's management banned her from her own Twitter account after she drunk-tweeted one too many times.

    After all those drunk tweets, her management imposed a new rule whereby two people had to read any given tweet that Adele wanted to post. This then had to be "signed off" by a third person before the tweet could go live.

    16. James Cameron originally wanted Enya to compose the score for Titanic, and even went so far as to assemble a rough edit using her music. However, she declined, and Cameron hired James Horner instead.

    After dreaming up the melody to the song, Paul McCartney gave it the working title, "Scrambled Eggs." The opening lyrics were: "Scrambled eggs / Oh my baby how I love your legs / Not as much as I love scrambled eggs".
